AYUH, TINGKATKAN SEMANGAT KESUKANAN
Ayuh kita teruskan semangat Tunku. Bola sepak ialah sukan rakyat. Kita bersatu untuk meningkatkan semangat kesukanan.

Let’s show our sporting spirit.
As football fans, we must unite to raise the spirit of sportsmanship in supporting our team and eliminate any excessive dissatisfaction we might have towards them. This reminder is deemed appropriate after we were recently taken aback by incidents of criminal attacks against three national players.
Faisal Halim, the victim of the sulphuric attack on May 5, 2024, has undergone three surgeries so far and is in the process of recovery.
Prior to this incident, on May 2, Akhyar Rashid was injured after being attacked by two men in his residential area in Kuala Terengganu. Akhyar received four stitches in his head and two in his head following the ordeal.
On May 7, a third incident occured involving football player Safiq Rahim. He was attacked by two men on a motorcycle who broke the rear window of his car whilst driving on Jalan Sri Gelam towards Lido Beach, Johor Bahru.
We pray that the three of them persevere in facing these challenges and recover smoothly from their injuries and trauma, and for there to be no more incidents like this to happen again to anyone in general and to football players in particular.
Recalling the words of Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra Al-Haj, Malaysia’s first prime minister who was also President of FAM when celebrating the country’s independence, he believed that sports, especially football, can be a symbol of national unity.
Malaysian players from diverse backgrounds stood united to make the country proud, while people from different races and religions cheered on together.
Tunku’s ethos should still be emulated today. Football is the people’s sport. We remain united to show our sporting spirit.
