Hari Perlawanan – Oman v Malaysia
Malaysia mengalahkan Oman 2–0.
Malaysia berjaya ke peringkat akhir Pestabola Merdeka 2000 namun mereka dikecewakan oleh New Zealand 0–2.

MATCH DAY
Oman 🇴🇲 v 🇲🇾 Malaysia
The last time Malaysia won against Oman’s national football team was at the 2000 Merdeka Tournament, where they met at the group stage. After a rather poor start to the tournament, Harimau Malaya demonstrated a better performance on the night compared to their first match against New Zealand, where they drew 0–0.
Even by showing more aggression in their play, it was not until the second half where the team under Coach Haji Abdul Rahman scored both of their goals. The first was through a header by Anuar Jusoh in the 53rd minute. Meanwhile, striker Rusdi Suparman’s efforts finally came to fruition as he gave Malaysia their second goal five minutes before the final whistle blew. Malaysia won 2–0.
