Harimau Menjelajah China dan Korea Utara – 1976
Pada tahun 1976, pasukan Harimau Malaya menjelajah beberapa wilayah negara China sambil mengadakan perlawanan persahabatan dengan pasukan tempatan.
Pada 28 April 1976, pasukan wilayah Kwangtung mengikat pasukan Malaysia 2–2. Seramai 30,000 penonton yang dilaporkan hadir di Yueh Hsiu Mountain Stadium, Canton dapat menyaksikan Mokhtar Dahari menjaringkan kedua-dua gol bagi Malaysia.
Pasukan Malaysia kemudiannya ke Shanghai di mana mereka tewas kepada pasukan Perbandaran Shanghai 1–3. Perlawanan itu ditonton oleh hampir 60 ribu orang.
Setelah itu, pasukan Harimau Malaya berangkat ke Peking (kini Beijing) bagi satu lagi perlawanan persahabatan. Seramai 70,000 penonton menyaksikan pasukan tempatan menewaskan pasukan kebangsaan Malaysia 2–0 di Peking Workers’ Stadium.
Dari Peking, Malaysia berangkat ke Pyongyang untuk mengadakan perlawanan persahabatan dengan Korea Utara, di mana pasukan kebangsaan kalah 0-5.
Hari ini, anak didikan Kim Pan-gon akan bertembung dengan pasukan China dalam Perlawanan Antarabangsa Tier 1 di Stadium Phoenix Hill, Chengdu, China. Sebelum itu pada 6 September, Malaysia telah seri 2–2 dengan Syria yang berada di ranking FIFA ke-94.

In 1976, Harimau Malaya toured several regions of China and played in friendly matches with the local teams.
On April 28, the Kwangtung Provincial team tied with Malaysia 2-2. 30,000 spectators who were reportedly at Yueh Hsiu Mountain Stadium, Canton were able to witness Mokhtar Dahari score both goals for Malaysia.
The Malaysian team then went to Shanghai, where they lost to the Shanghai Municipal team 1-3. The match was attended by almost 60,000 people.
Malaysia then left for Peking (now Beijing) for another friendly match. A total of 70,000 spectators watched their local team defeat Malaysia 2-0 at the Peking Workers’ Stadium.
From Peking, Malaysia headed to Pyongyang for a friendly match with North Korea, which they lost 0-5.
Today on September 9, 2023, the national team under Kim Pan-gon will face China in the Tier 1 International Match at Phoenix Hill Stadium in Chengdu, China. A few days earlier, Malaysia drew 2-2 with Syria, who are currently ranked 94th.
