Kenali Shukor Adan (Bhg. 2)

Shukor Adan menyertai skuad kebangsaan Malaysia pada 2001. Pada tahun yang sama, Malaysia muncul naib johan Sukan SEA selepas tewas kepada Thailand 0–1 pada perlawanan akhir.

Pada tahun 2003, Shukor Adan menjaringkan gol untuk Malaysia di kelayakan Piala Asia AFC 2004 dalam perlawanan menentang Bahrain. Malangnya, Malaysia terlepas peluang untuk layak ke kejohanan tersebut. 

Shukor kemudian membantu Malaysia memenangi Pestabola Merdeka 2007 dengan menjaringkan dua gol dalam peringkat kumpulan. Gol pertama beliau dijaringkan semasa menentang Laos, di mana Malaysia menang 2-0. Gol kedua pula dijaringkan dalam perlawanan menentang Lesotho. Malaysia menang 4–0. Malaysia muncul juara dengan menewaskan Myanmar 3–1 dalam perlawanan akhir. 

Kejohanan terakhir beliau bersama Malaysia ialah Piala AFF Suzuki 2014, di mana beliau dipertanggungjawabkan sebagai kapten pasukan. Malaysia mara ke peringkat akhir tetapi tewas kepada Thailand dengan skor agregat 3–4. Pada masa itu, Shukor telah memikir untuk bersara. Namun, beliau tetap bermain di kejohanan tersebut apabila dipanggil oleh Dollah Salleh. Shukor menjaringkan gol semasa perlawanan separuh akhir menentang Vietnam, di mana Malaysia menang 4–2.

Shukor menamatkan karier antarabangsa beliau bersama Harimau Malaysia dengan 51 caps dan empat gol. 

Sebelum perlawanan akhir Piala Malaysia 2021, Shukor mengumumkan persaraan beliau sebagai pemain profesional. Karier beliau akhir dengan kejayaan yang manis apabila KL City FC memenangi Piala Malaysia buat kali pertama sejak 1989. Shukor Adan joined the Malaysian national squad in 2001. In the same year, Malaysia emerged as runners-up at the SEA Games after losing to Thailand 0–1 in the final. 

In 2003, Shukor Adan scored a goal at the 2004 AFC Asian Cup qualification in Malaysia’ match against Bahrain. Unfortunately, Malaysia missed out on the opportunity to qualify for the tournament. 

Shukor then helped Malaysia win the 2007 Merdeka Tournament, scoring two goals in the group stage. He first scored in Malaysia’s match against Laos, where they won 2–0. His second goal came in their match against Lesotho. Malaysia won 4–0. Malaysia emerged as champions after defeating Myanmar 3–1 in the final. 

His last tournament with Malaysia was the 2014 AFF Suzuki Cup, where he was team captain. Malaysia reached the finals but lost to Thailand 3–4 on aggregate. Shukor already had retirement on his mind but accepted to play at the tournament out of respect for Dollah Salleh, who personally called him up to play. Shukor scored a goal during the semi-final match against Vietnam, where Malaysia won 4–2. 

Shukor ended his international Harimau Malaysia career with 51 caps and four goals. 

Just before the final match of the 2021 Malaysia Cup, Shukor announced his retirement as a player. It became a sweet send-off as his team, KL City FC won the Cup for the first time since 1989. We wish him all the best in his future endeavours as he begins a new career in coaching.
