Legenda Harimau Malaya, Dato’ Shukor Salleh pernah berseloroh β€œChin Ann suruh saya jaga Jae-han.

Today we share a photo featuring Harimau Malaya defender and a South Korean striker from different decades: Kamarul Zaman Yusoff and Kim Jae-han.

Kamarul Zaman, the national center-back played in the 1980s while the tall player Jae-han wore the Taegeuk Warriors jersey in the 1970s. Jae-han started playing for South Korea in 1972 and successfully helped his national team win the Merdeka Tournament in the same year.

Among the victories that Kamarul Zaman reaped with the national squad includes a bronze medal at the 1985 Bangkok SEA Games and champion at the 1986 Merdeka Tournament.. He also played with Harimau Malaya against South Korea in Seoul for the final group match of the 1986 World Cup Qualifiers where Malaysia lost 0–2. The last time he represented Malaysia was at the 1986 Asian Games, which was also held in Seoul.

Meanwhile, the 1.91m or 6ft 3in striker Jae-han, caught the attention of many local football fans when he played in the Merdeka Tournament during the 1970s. He was adept at using his physical advantages to trick his opponent team’s defence and score goals.

Harimau Malaya legend Dato’ Shukor Salleh once joked, β€œChin Ann told me to guard Jae-han. I said, I would have to use a ladder. Actually, I also had my own way of controlling him.”

That is just part of the story about these two players who played in opposing positions from different eras.
